Team Member Spotlight – Saroj Sahu from IT

What’s your average day like?
Each day brings new challenges, new lessons and many ups and downs. All I try to do is stay positive, complete my tasks, spend time with my friends and make sure to relax. As often I work long hours, I try to unwind by exploring interesting videos on YouTube and Facebook.

What is your role at IT?
As a software developer, coding is the center of all things involved in my role. I always think of a coding as poetry and once you’re in the flow, beautiful coding leads to technically superior solutions.

How would you describe your two years journey at Paynear?
Two years just flew by so quickly. I felt like achieving my dreams, learned new things. I personally believe in Mark Zuckerberg’s quote – ‘move fast and break things. Unless you are breaking stuff, you are not moving fast enough’. The journey has been wonderful so far and by building new and innovative solutions I have learned a lot at Paynear.

Over the years, what would you say has been the most rewarding part of your job?
It has to be the time well spent during the development and release of Paynear ONE.

What keeps you busy outside the work life?
Like I said, unwinding with my friends, browing the net is what I prefer to do when I’m at home. Sometimes travelling to new places and going on long rides.

What do you enjoy most about your current position at Paynear?
Everything that I do at Paynear is enjoyable. There is nothing that I don’t really dislike.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you find yourself?
The north eastern state of Assam – I like the nature of Assam villages, the tea park and many other picturesque locations.

What is one thing you couldn’t live without?
Food to eat and oxygen to breathe.

If you could change one thing about working here, what would it be?
Good things such as foosball and table tennis have been introduced by the management, which not only give you a much needed break but also help in re-energizing with colleagues during hectic schedule.

If you could be anyone for a week, who would it be and why?
Municipal Commissioner of my home town, because I want to make my hometown a heaven on earth for me and the citizens.

What technologies, processes, and techniques do you get to use?
Mostly Java, Spring, MySQL, Vaadin and DHX

If you won the lottery today and had the time and resources to devote your life to one worthy cause, hobby or passion, what would it be?
I will utilize the money in constructing a beautiful and small home in the midst of nature, a backyard full of flowers and sounds of the nature.
